Every order placed on xaviers.photo sets in motion a production and shipping chain conceived as an act of attention to the collector. The work is never a parcel — it is an art object that deserves to arrive at your home in conditions worthy of its value.
The printing studio: PICTO Paris
All prints are produced exclusively by the PICTO Paris studio, the French reference for fine art photographic printing since 1950. Each print is made to order, numbered, signed by hand by the artist, and accompanied by its numbered, sealed certificate of authenticity.
Estimated printing and framing time: 10 to 20 days depending on the options chosen.
Shipping your work
Your works are entrusted to DHL Express, a door-to-door, time-definite express service. Mounted or framed works over 150 cm in their longest overall dimension, frame included, fall outside the standard express service: they travel crated, entrusted to DHL Express or to a specialist fine-art carrier (made-to-measure crate, dedicated vehicle, delivery by appointment). Their shipping price is shown before you order, with no quotation needed. Every shipment is:
- packed individually at the studio, in protection suited to its size and finish, and photographed before closing
- insured for its purchase value for the whole journey
- tracked in real time, from collection to handover
- handed over only against a signature — you choose the delivery day, or another address, through DHL Express On Demand Delivery
Delivery time after collection (indicative): the next working day in mainland France in most cases, 1 to 4 working days in the European Union, 2 to 7 working days elsewhere, excluding customs formalities.
Estimated total time (from order to receipt): on average 15 days in mainland France, 3 weeks in the European Union and 1 month internationally; up to 30 days in mainland France and 45 days internationally depending on destination and finish.
On request — Saturday delivery, delivery before noon, discreet delivery with no mention of the price for a gift, handover subject to a delivery code: write to us before dispatch at contact@xaviers.photo; we will tell you the cost, if any, at the carrier’s price, and arrange it for you. In Paris and its inner suburbs, delivery by hand by the photographer, by appointment, is offered free of charge.
Shipping rates
Charges depend on the destination and on the size of the work — its longest overall dimension, frame included. They apply per print and are added together when an order contains several works, each being packed separately. The exact amount is shown on the work’s page according to the chosen size, then again before payment.

Amounts per print, inclusive of VAT for mainland France and the European Union and VAT-exempt for other destinations; insurance for the purchase value throughout the journey is included. Paper prints ordered without framing travel rolled in a tube: they are charged at the first band up to 130 cm and at the second beyond that, whatever the size, with no quotation needed. The largest size that can be ordered online is 275 cm overall. French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna: €300 up to 85 cm; beyond that, as for other distant destinations, shipping is arranged directly with us before you order. Outside the European Union, import duties and taxes and the carrier’s handling fee are paid by the recipient on arrival.
Tracking your order
As soon as your print is dispatched, you receive by email a tracking number from the carrier, which lets you follow its journey in real time. Your personal space on xaviers.photo also shows the progress of each order, in four stages.
DHL Express notifies you by e-mail or text message as soon as the work is collected, lets you choose the delivery day and tells you the estimated time of arrival.
Works made to order
Each XAVIER S. print is a work made to order: printed, numbered and signed specifically for you, to the dimensions, technique and finish you choose. No copy is held in stock.
Consequently, in accordance with article L. 221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code, the sale of a print does not carry a right of withdrawal: any validated order is firm. This information is presented to you before payment, then restated on the order form and the delivery note. Of course, in the event of damage in transit or a lack of conformity, the guarantees below apply in full.
In the event of damage on delivery
If the packaging or the work shows visible damage on receipt, refuse delivery or record precise, detailed reservations on the courier’s delivery record (a simple “subject to unpacking” is not enough), then write to us within 48 hours at contact@xaviers.photo with photographs of the packaging and of the work: this is what allows us to file the claim with the insurer within the seven-day period it imposes.
We handle the claim and proceed with the replacement of the work — same edition number, new print — within the usual production times, or refund you in full, as you prefer. Nothing is charged to you. Your guarantees do not depend on these reservations; they only help us obtain compensation from the carrier.
In the event of a non-conforming order
If the work received shows a manufacturing defect or does not match the options of your order, contact us within 7 days of receipt. We bear the full costs of return and replacement.
