Description
The last of a series of three made with a drone off Arcachon, this photograph frames the moment when the sandbank still breaks the surface. On the left, the blond matter stretches into long parallel crests, striated like a dune barely covered by the water; on the right, the deep green hollows into soft shadows, an underwater relief revealed by the light through transparency. Between the two, a sharp edge, almost ruled by the tide, where two tiny boats have come to moor — the only markers of scale in this shifting geography. Where the first work in the series sought the vertigo of depth, this one is concerned with the meeting: the precise point where two materials touch without merging. At the next tide, the line will have moved; the image, for its part, keeps the tracing of a single day.
