Description
South of Lisbon, the Comporta coast stretches out kilometres of dunes and pine forests bordered without interruption by the Atlantic. Photographed vertically from a drone, the beach becomes an abstract composition: on the left, the deep green of the vegetation biting into the dune; at the centre, the pale sand, crossed by paths and tracks that intersect like veins; on the right, the swell breaking in long parallel lines before dissolving into the dense turquoise of the open sea. The morning light lengthens the shadows of the pines and gives the sand an almost textile modelling. Not a silhouette, not a building: only the traces of passage recall that this shore is frequented, then given back each day to the wind and the tide. The image is a kind of sensitive cartography — a landscape reduced to its materials and its borders, where the eye moves freely from one band to the next.
