Description
On the edge of Marrakech, the Selman unfolds a palace perspective: a long pool of deep green, edged with terracotta, guarded by two rows of palm trees and an army of deserted sun loungers. At the far end, an ochre earthen pavilion roofed with green tiles closes the axis like a stage set. The morning light gives the image all its charm: the sky opens above the palms, the foliage awakens, and the still water becomes a mirror laid in the middle of the garden. Designed by Jacques Garcia, the architecture borrows from the great Moorish residences their symmetry, their red-earth walls and their taste for silence. The folded parasols, the drapes of the four-poster daybeds: this haven of serenity awaits the awakening of its guests. The photograph captures that suspended moment when luxury is reduced to pure geometry: an avenue of water, aligned palm trees, and the morning light.
