Description
The drone hovers directly above the Yonne, at Cézy, looking straight down. From this viewpoint, the suspended footbridge is no longer a structure one crosses but a line: a red ribbon stretched on the diagonal, bordered by its slender cables, its worn deck revealing the mendings of time. All around, the river acts as a mirror — the clouds glide across it in pale masses over a deep green ground, so that the bridge seems to span the sky itself. On the left bank, the vegetation spills over in vivid masses, hemmed with water lilies scattered across the water; in the opposite corner, a treetop answers in echo. Colour is essential here: that bold red against the muted greens of the water organises the whole composition. An image of balance, between document and abstraction, in which a modest country bridge becomes pure geometry.
